Katrena King, Esq.
Executive Director
Katrena King, Esq. is the Executive Director of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana. Katrena leads the LIA program participants and works closely with the LIA Board of Directors which both consist of corporate executives, business owners, educators, local government stakeholders, and non-profit leaders. With a background in the legal field, community planning, and leadership development, Katrena carries a unique set of skills that contribute to her ability to connect people of dramatically different backgrounds. Her expertise lies in gently guiding conversations through challenging topics, while creating trusted spaces for participants to share safely and openly. Katrena works to empower others in recognizing and honing their own leadership gifts and abilities; she is also a caster of vision, encourager of strategic thinking, and presenter of new ideas.
Katrena holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Anthropology from the University of New Orleans, a Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, and a Certificate in Deacon Studies from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette Class XXXIV and a recent 20 Under 40 Acadiana Leadership Award honoree. In her free time, you can find her volunteering as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, as a Director-at-Large for the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Lafayette, and as a board member for Hearts of Hope.
