Executive Director

Katrena King, Esq. is the Executive Director of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana. Her work involves empowering others to activate their leadership gifts and abilities. This personal mission statement is evident in both her work as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing at Southern University Law Center and Purdue University Global and through her Deacon Studies at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Katrena attended the University of New Orleans for her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Southern University Law Center for her Juris Doctor degree. Katrena is a proud alumnus of Leadership Lafayette Class XXXIV and is a 20 Under 40 Acadiana Leadership Award honoree.

She currently serves as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana and is a member of the Junior League of Lafayette, while also participating and leading in varying capacities on boards and agencies in Acadiana and beyond. Katrena has served on the following: Hearts of Hope Board of Directors, Louisiana Interchurch Conference Board of Directors, Girls on the Run South Louisiana Board of Directors (as Secretary), Board of Trustees for the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, General Commission on the Status and Role of Women Board of Directors (as Co-Chair of the Legislative Task Force), Lafayette Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors (as Secretary), and Uskichitto Retreat Center Board of Directors (as Chair).
