Katrena King, Esq.
Executive Director
Katrena King, Esq. is the Executive Director of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana. Her expertise lies in gently guiding conversations through challenging topics, while creating trusted spaces for participants to share safely and openly. Katrena leads the LIA program participants and works closely with the LIA Board of Directors which both consist of corporate executives, business owners, educators, local government stakeholders, and non-profit leaders. Through Southern University Law Center, Katrena also serves as an Adjunct Professor and Legal Writing Fellow, where she coaches and mentors both law students and recent graduates by offering guidance and best practices on everything from legal writing to oral advocacy and work/life balance.
Katrena’s special skills include empowering others to both recognize and hone their own leadership gifts and abilities. She is also able to help cast vision, encourage strategic thinking, and present ideas in new ways. Katrena is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette Class XXXIV and a recent 20 Under 40 Acadiana Leadership Award honoree. In her free time, you can find her volunteering as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, as the Community Collaboration chair the for Junior League of Lafayette, and as a board member for Hearts of Hope and Girls on the Run.
Stephanie Larriviere
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Stephanie Larriviere is a Lafayette native and LSU alumna who believes in the power of authentic conversations and genuine connections. She is a targeted marketing specialist for Vitalant who focuses on philanthropic efforts and special projects, and she also runs her own freelance PR services company, La Rivière PR. She is a proud blood donor and advocate for maintaining a strong community blood supply. A graduate of Leadership Lafayette’s Class XXXVI, Stephanie was also honored as one of 2023’s 20 Under 40 and serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana. Stephanie is a single mom to one precocious pre-teen. In her spare time she loves musical theater, true crime documentaries, singing Taylor Swift bridges at the top of her lungs, and recording episodes for her podcast, “Things We Learned The Hard Way.”
