History

Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Leadership Institute of Acadiana (LIA) was founded to meet a community need for professional development, hands-on training, and ongoing support for both emerging and established leaders.

What began with a single flagship program, Leadership Lafayette, has grown into a diverse portfolio of leadership initiatives designed to address the evolving needs of our region. Today, more than 1,500 graduates represent the business, nonprofit, public service, and civic sectors, forming a powerful network of leaders committed to strengthening Acadiana and advancing the community through collaboration, advocacy, and service.
