For more than 30 years, the Leadership Institute of Acadiana (LIA) has brought together the region’s most dedicated leaders from the private, nonprofit and public sectors to drive actionable change for a better Acadiana.

At LIA, our goal is to provide experiential, collaborative leadership training programs and initiatives that offer local leaders access to the skills, knowledge and ongoing support they need to impact our community and influence the future of our region.

History

Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, LIA was founded in response to a need for an active approach to leadership training and development that could offer a continuum of support for the betterment of our community.

Initially started with only its flagship leadership program: Leadership Lafayette, LIA’s programming has grown to include a variety of leadership training initiatives adapted to meet the needs of the community we aim to serve. With more than 1,500 graduates and counting, LIA’s diverse history of leaders represents the very best professional, public service and nonprofit organizations that are working together to champion policies and legislation for a stronger community.
