AVA and LIA Collaborate to Connect Veterans with Free Leadership Development & Training Opportunities

Lafayette, LA – On Monday, March 27, 2023, Acadiana Veteran Alliance, and Leadership Institute of Acadiana announced a collaboration to offer free registrations for the “Acadiana OnBoard” and “Intro Lafayette” programs. AVA will sponsor the registration costs for the first three veterans to apply for each of these programs during 2023. The upcoming dates for the spring programs are: Acadiana OnBoard – May 16; Intro Lafayette – May 25-26, 2023.

This opportunity allows both AVA and LIA to foster their respective missions in a way that better serves the veterans of Acadiana. The mission statement of LIA is “to convene, build, and activate leaders.”

“We are continuously seeking ways to reach new and rising leaders in Acadiana,” said LIA Executive Director Katrena King. “This collaboration will allow us to help our veterans who are seeking more understanding of the challenges and successes in our community.”

The mission statement of AVA is “[t]o unite veterans, veteran-owned businesses, and all companies for a common purpose; supporting veterans in job creation and work placement, assisting veterans in mental health solutions, creating a new, fully developed support system for brothers-in-arms through financial/legal/housing assistance, and funding existing veteran-focused philanthropies through focused efforts.”

“Our continuous goal is to provide new and challenging opportunities for veteran leaders in Acadiana,” added AVA Founder and CEO Andrew Ward.  “This was a natural fit for collaboration with LIA and their vision to empower leaders in our area is one that we sought out and admired. These programs are essential to building better citizens in our community, and we are humbled to have the chance to fund these registrations through our AVA Give Program.”

Intro Lafayette is a two-day intensive program providing a behind-the-scenes look at important updates on the private, public, and non-profit sector landscape from the experts working in it while also engaging with peers participating in the program.

Acadiana OnBoard is an evening session focused on helping to strengthen and support our community of non-profit organizations by enhancing the pool of effective, committed board members and increasing board diversity and inclusivity.
